Among the heat waves of New York City, I have been enjoying having time to learn much music, do a lot of Bikram yoga, and focus on my summer trip!
I am spending the remainder of July and the first part of August in Europe, enjoying friends and singing for a couple conductors (one in Germany, the other in Norway). In between those adventures, I'll be singing fantastic music with the a capella group Umbrian Serenades in Spoleto, Italy. Delightful! Joseph Flummerfelt will conduct, and I'm looking forward to the opportunity to sing great music with him at the helm. My colleague and friend Pamela Simpson is one of the associate conductors of the group, and it will also be a joy to sing with her. Check out the website www.umbrianserenades.com!
In late August, I'll be performing "Konstanze" in a concert version of Mozart's Die Entfürhung aus dem Serail . It's been good motivation to work on the role and will be nice to come home to more music!
Enjoy the heat, as much and possible and soak up the feeling of summer freedom!
